How Tarot Works
- People have been seeking answers from the divine since the beginning of time. There is no one right way to retrieve this precious information, which resides in our subconscious. But the Tarot is the easiest way to bring intuition quickly to the surface, while providing access to profound wisdom.
- How do tarot cards work? The simple answer is that using any visual tools to access intuition works like a Rorschach Inkblot test. You see an image, and your psyche matches it to your thoughts. If you”re reading another person, your psyche matches the image before you to that person”s thoughts.
- But Tarot gives so much more than the other visual divination tools because its ancient symbols and archetypes connect us to ancient wisdom. The Tarot contains 22 archetypes of the human journey, from the child-like Fool to the enlightened Universe. To get from fool to enlightenment is what we all seek. The Tarot will tell us just where we are on that path, and what is coming next.
- But aren”t these cards just pulled by chance? In my classes, we often collectively read one person. Invariably two or three of us will pull the same cards for that person, the statistical likelihood being well over a million to one. “How can that be?” we wonder. The answer lies somewhere in the obscure and spooky (Einstein”s term) field of quantum physics, which has shown that time is flexible, not linear, and can move forwards and backwards. We also know from quantum physics that we are “entangled” with each other and all of the universe.

Jeanne Mayell is a professional intuitive and author who gives private life readings and offers tools to help people develop their psychic abilities.
