Thank you @deetoo, and @jeannemayell for suggesting a daily silent prayer. I will join you in 20 minutes time today.

I am also interested in a healing prayer event for the border crisis.

I happened upon an article at the intercept yesterday by Peter Mass, which chilled me to my core. In it, Peter Mass draws the parallels between what we are seeing now, and his experience visiting the Balkan camps in the 1990s. Please be warned though, I found the article harrowing.

Although I felt rage at the situation before, I now see more clearly than ever that this is a global phenomenon. The crises have been building for years in different ways. Australia's offshore detention camps and youth detention centres, China's Uighur reeducation camps, Sudan's massacre of protestors in June, the US concentration camps. They are all linked. They all make me feel as though my soul urgently wants out of my body to go and stand vigil at the gates until people are treated humanely, and there is accountability. I can't shake this feeling, and I grieve for those who are suffering.

@deetoo

count me in.  I will pray every day 7:30 am est.  I will pray that the angels hold them in light and reveal injustice that will soften the hardened hearts who promote their mistrestment.

Thanks to all of you who participated in the Silent Minute.  I am committed to doing this nightly.   I lit my white candle (thank you, yogagirl!) and as I meditated, felt the powerful presence of Michael the Archangel.  I asked Michael to protect these immigrants and for his help with fighting these forces of evil.  After I completed my prayer, I looked to the right and saw the moon burning brightly.  Then my eye was led to an area to the right of the moon, where I saw a large, brilliant planet.  Based on my reading, it was Jupiter.  Perhaps some of you are knowledgeable about the planets -- I am not --  but I found the following information on Jupiter.

The Jupiter symbol is closely aligned with manifestation because of its situation in the solar system. It rests in the center of the orbital line of planets, with four planets preceding it (Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars) and four planets extending past it (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto). This position of balance makes the energy of Jupiter ideal for justice, manifestation and perfect order.

Jupiter is the largest planet in our immediate solar system, and takes its name from the Jupiter the god in Roman mythology (Zeus in Greek myth).  The personality of this deity is huge, wielding his authority with confidence. His rule and judgment is law.

I have faith that divine justice will prevail.

Deetoo, I was outside doing the prayer with my little dog. And I also was drawn to the moon so big and bright tonight and the star to the right of the moon grabbed my attention.  Thank you for pointing out it was Jupiter, the king of the universe and a sign of good luck.  Thank you all for joining in.

@jeanne-mayell and everyone:  okay, now I have a confession to make.  Yes, I did see Jupiter.  Like Jeanne, I initially thought it was a star.  But it looked too huge to be a star, so I called my husband outside and asked, "look at that big, bright thing next to the moon.  Is that some sort of UFO hovering next to the moon?"   My husband is a kind soul, and was probably containing a chuckle when he replied, "uh, no.  That's a planet.  I think either Venus or Jupiter."  I am such a silly, city kid.

I too meditated at 9PM last nite.  I light five white candles, just becasue that's how many I had!  Five minute meditation for protection for the poor, hungry and those in pain.  I also prayed for the awful people who are doing this too them.  I didn't want to but I believe Karma requires it.  I too am planning on this every nite.  I placed mine on the mantel of my living room which has a big mirror behind it.  I had reflexted light in the whole room.  I would love to do it outside but it is really hot here and my poor body can't take the heat.  CHemo after effects.  I ordered more candles so I plan on doing this for as long as it takes.

I think one thing in our favor is that Mercury is Retrograde and I suspect that there will be many crossed wires/communication problems and delays, and misses in this endeavor which relies quite a bit on technology, transportation/traveling, communication, unreliable information and important documents, contracts etc. get forgotten or screwed up. Already there was a major blackout in Manhattan... Just saying, this plan is probably going to get totally screwed up because someone decided to upgrade all the computer systems and the whole thing crashes...

So the migrant crisis is only to get worse. Now a new law is going into effect Tuesday  that would almost would end asylum seekers from Central America.

Under the rule published Monday in the Federal Register, asylum seekers who pass through another country first will be ineligible for asylum at the U.S. southern border. For example, a Honduran who passes through Guatemala and Mexico would be barred from requesting asylum in the USA under the argument that they could have applied for asylum in either of those two countries.

Everyday this administration disgust me even more. The best part he was trying to signed an agreement with the president of Guatemala as a “safe third country” so asylum seekers can request it from there. As far as I know that country is no where safe and Guatemala government  Is denying it and the president of Guatemala can’t sign it and the matter is in the courts to see if they can even legally sign it

Trump was supposed to meet Monday with Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales to discuss a "safe third country" agreement for asylum seekers. Guatemala announced the meeting was canceled because the courts are considering whether Morales can make such an agreement.

"The government of the republic reiterates that at no moment has it contemplated signing an agreement to convert Guatemala into a safe third country," the government said in a statement.

Thank God that the Guatemala courts blocked any efforts by their president to sign.

Guatemala's top court has blocked any move by the country's president to sign a "safe third country" agreement with the United States, a deal that would complicate efforts by other nationalities to seek asylum in the U.S.

Jessi, the courts will stop this latest nonsense move. It's illegal, and the ACLU is already on the case. It also doesn't stop migrants from claiming other sorts of relief that isn't asylum (withholding of removal and relief under the convention against torture). More importantly, it's more of the monster's gaslighting and baiting. We need to stop giving him energy. He loves to alarm, scare and hurt people. He's a tormented person who can't stand a day without drama. When things seem to settle down he needs to get people agitated. He loves this, so we must not give it to him. We must endure him but let's try not to give him the energy he so desperately wants.

@lynnventura

I understand that this going to be challenged but in the meantime these people are going to be hurt further. They want to keep migrants in cages indefinite for there only crime was to seek asylum which is not illegal to do. Crossing the border is not a felony at the moment. As a mom and a human being it’s heart breaking to see these kids behind bars and to think of the moms and dads crying for there children.  How can they have peace? I know I would not sleep or eat from the worrying. I can’t even be separated from my kids for a couple of hours. I worry and only relax once they are home and that is when they go out with their dad. Imagine a strangers.

I know this is another of soulless Miller ideas. When is he going to be gone? Him and Conway have lasted the longest.

All true Jessi.  I wasn't trying to minimize your concerns. It's awful, I was just trying to say that he feeds on our energy, that's all. But you are right, it is heartbreaking.

I am heartsick.

Reading accounts about what happened yesterday in Mississippi is heart breaking.

 It was the first day of school for many students and when these poor kids came home, their parents were  gone,   detained after ICE raids on chicken processing plants where they work .  There was no plan in place to deal with the fallout affecting the children of the parents detained.  Volunteers  organized at a local gym to feed and house children who were alone.  Schools were scrambling.  Children were hysterical as their parents were bussed to "someplace".   I can not even imagine.  This just breaks my heart.  We are traumatizing children without a second thought.

My daughter is a first year teacher at a Title One school which began classes this week.  Though I haven't taught form many years,  I  am a former teacher from a Title One school.  What more can we expect vulnerable children to handle in life?   Children can't learn if they don't feel safe, if they are taken from their parents, if they fear daily for their parents.  We are further harming children struggling to find their way in life.

Either we build walls of concrete around our hearts in the Age of Trump so we don't have to feel anymore, or we bleed and bleed and bleed.

What the %@^$ is wrong with our government?

I can't stand cruelty.

@lovendures

They had planes all the people who they detained are going to put in (concentration camps) or as they like to call detention centers. They will keep them in there as long as they can so they milk the system for all the money and then they will deport them. Most likely they are looking for their children this moment to make even more money. It is all about how much money they can make.

I just read that they released so far 300 of the 680.  Why is that not making the news? Oh wait cause it sounds better from Trump and company if they keep you thinking that everyone was illegals. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/ms-ice-raids-300-of-the-680-detainees-released/ar-AAFxapz

Also, I would like to point out how the show Orange is the New Black on Netflix in their final season dedicated a large portion of their show to talk about the migrants moms who are detained and separated  from their children and then how they are carelessly discarded and deported and they even touched on the migrant children and babies how they have to report in court with out representation.

So they choose to schedule this when it was the first day of school for many children.  And although an ICE raid can be postponed in case of an emergency (e.g., hurricanes, etc.), the Administration didn't consider doing that, even though so many people are in mourning.  Instead, T. shows up for a carefully orchestrated photo op, sends out crazy tweets in between hospital visits, and his WH handlers profess that he received a "rock star" reception at the hospital.

I'd heard that when these children are abandoned like this, the older ones are preyed upon to join the gangs -- which some do.  For some it's their only means of protection and survival.  Which means that the Administration can then point to their gang involvement as justification for deporting them.  Not that they need any justification.

Since 2016 I feel like I've aged 10 years.  My heart is broken, over and over again.  But I refuse to build a concrete wall around myself.  And I refuse to look away.  And I refuse to lose my humanity.  Every day I acknowledge my anger and consciously choose to be kinder.  Over and over again.

According to this report the inhumane treatment of migrant children at the border is continuing and is beyond belief.  A facility in Illinois where children are being sent says they are seeing diseases from malnutrition and squalid conditions that sound like something out of 18th century London slums— like scabies and tuberculosis.

“The Trump administration is sending immigrant children who are alone, afraid and sick with fever, chicken pox and even tuberculosis to shelters in Chicago, where they are further isolated to prevent the spread of disease, according to one of the nonprofit organizations caring for them.”—Propublica

It feels like Nazi Germany.  I can’t believe it’s happening in this country.

When juxtaposed with the income transfer given to the wealthy last year to the billionaires who are running these atrocities, It is sickening.

Propublica doesn’t whitewash current events. They investigate and report. It’s hard to see this but these are the plain facts. They send out daily briefings to anyone who signs up.

@jeanne-mayell

When things settle down and the country regains some sanity again, let's not forget the migrants. As horrible as what this administration is doing, it's been happening on less shocking scales for decades. Google "Operation Wetback."  Google "American Baptist Churches v. INS."

This country has been destabilizing other countries forever (and for profit) and then treating it's refugees like animals. Clinton did tremendous damage with his 1996 immigration "reform" law. Trump was only able to change the recent public charge regulations because Clinton singed the change in the underlying law. Obama separated thousands of families, more quietly, without the hate, but same effect. It wasn't in the news everyday, but it was happening. The pain was everywhere, yet invisible to us.

The refugee crisis is one of the great challenges to our country and to the world. Let's remember that long after the monster is gone. That's the gift in what is happening now, the gift of clear sight.

Jeanne, thank you for sharing that article, as painful as it was to read it. We have to face up to what is happening to these families or else the inhumane treatment will continue.

Lynn, you are so correct that this crisis is one that has been building and cannot be blamed solely on the current admin (even though they seem more monstrous about the whole thing).

How I wish the USA and other countries around the world would sort out humane immigration & refugee plans quickly, because climate change will continue to limit resources and make places uninhabitable. The countries emitting the most carbon bear the responsibility to help those victimized by this crisis.

We are being faced with such horrible news, virtually every day.  I guess that is the point -- for this administration to overwhelm us.  I sat here this morning and began thinking, what should the media's primary focus be?  Because it's too much to handle, even for the media.  They have never encountered anything like this before.  I saw Kasie Hunt report on some of Kook-inelli's disgusting remarks when he reviled the poem on the Statue of Liberty -- her voice broke and she looked like she was going to be sick.

I personally feel that not enough focus is being placed on the immigrants, each and every day.  The images and information coming out should penetrate everyone's heart, so that people protest and demand justice.   I've heard numerous pundits comment "this isn't who we are," but recently there's been some push back -- I've heard others saying "yes, this is who we are."  As Lynn remarked, we're being given the gift of clear sight.

Five years ago while meditating on my own future I saw myself From a great height driving north west through Vermont. In the vision I could see tears spring from my car. The date in the vision was August 2019.

For five years I thought about the upcoming time and wondered what would be happening in the world that would cause such tears as
i headed towards the Canadian border. When Trump was elected,
i wondered if he’d set off a world war and we’d have to flee.
Well, we made that trip this month and it was nothing other than a simple family vacation. The tears springing from the car come from the grief this administration has brought to us all.

Lynn thank you for pointing out that these events have been happening already. I’m aware from friends who worked for Clinton that he clamped down on the poor even worse than Reagan. I was not a Clinton fan. That this administration has brought the ugliness to the surface is good.
