This should be titled “Trump is unraveling”

Trump: "Right now in a number of states the laws allow a baby to be born from his or her mother's womb in the 9th month. It is wrong. It has to change."

You heard that correctly.

The very first post that kicked off this whole thread in May, focused on the unraveling of Trump's mental health.   So here we are 7 months and 2200 posts into this thread and the condition Psychiatrist John Gartner speaks about in this interview  that @Suspira44 posted shows a greater level of unraveling.

The Trump situation feels like the climate situation: We know the situation we are in needs addressing and can be remedied,  yet the same small group prevents us from doing anything.

I just don't see it - he's nearing the end of his life and unraveling right before our eyes - his karma is being played out for the world to see....

Trump is nuts, yes, but I don't see how he is any more unhinged now than he was a few years ago. He's been this insane since 2015, at least. I'm surprised that he is so stable in his instability. I expected him to be far more gone by now, but really, he is just as stupid, as racist, as cruel, as infantile, as illiterate, as ever. Nothing about him is decent, normal, kind, American, but he really has been this bad since the beginning of his term.

Although he is still acting in character, he is definitely having some kind of neurological problems. He is slurring a lot of words, repeating himself and his gait is strange. He has also been manically tweeting over the last few days. As the impeachment progresses, I expect his behavior will worsen, even beyond that bad that we already know because he feels cornered. Take heart and know that this can not last much longer.

I so hope you're right Baba. Despite the articles of impeachment the last few days I've had the worst sense of dread, only made worse by Bill Barr's chilling interpretation of the IG report, and his promise that the Durham report will come out next summer (probably close to the democratic convention, I'm thinking -- and deliberately planned that way).

Things haven't felt right since 2016, but they feel really, really off-kilter now. I only feel trump getting stronger. I hope I'm wrong.

@lynn,  I feel the same way. I have had the worse sense of dread for the last 2 weeks. His ( and his cronies')  gas lighting is so blatant. The towing  of Russian propaganda - of the entire Republican party is so alarming, followed by Barr's re-framing of reality. So many people are duped and seemingly in a trance. When I heard some Democrats are considering censure or not voting for the articles of impeachment my stomach dropped. I am calling each and every one of them today. If any of you feel moved please call and demand them to do better and stand up for their country:

Censure Four of the Dems wanting just censure: Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.) Kurt Schrader (D-Ore.) Anthony Brindisi (D-N.Y.) Ben McAdams (D-Utah.)

2 Dems against impeachment: Collin Peterson (D-Minn.) Jeff Van Drew (D-N.J.)

I am having physical anxiety symptoms. Ugh. Frogs boiling in water. Wake up!!!

@lynn ans @Shaun, I agree that the anxiety in the collective is rising again. I feel it too. It really is darkest just before dawn. Apparently we have to go through this to get to the other side. Sadly, it may take this horribleness to wake up the populace. I am meditating daily and sending light and during those meditations, I see something different every day. I can say though, that even when I see things that I consider upsetting or don’t understand, the visions  always go back in the end to the same thing - that the light will prevail. Tomorrow is the full moon. I am going to make a special effort to send positive energy to this situation and into the world. I know there are elections in Great Britain and they also need all the light that they can get right now.

I have been feeling a bit panicked in the last week. Especially last few days. Feel the darkness "winning" in some way which had me feeling deflated and doubting what I've seen - that he will leave at some point, prior to the election. I didn't feel this way till recently so not sure why and what is going on.  I'm praying it passes soon.

You hit the nail on the head.  I feel the darkness winning too.  I feel trump emboldened.  If he's not stopped, and is just further empowered by Barr, will he be completely unstoppable?  A true menace who fires everyone, installs more bobble heads in positions of power and further erodes our democracy, while we sit back and watch, mute with shock and disgust?

The alliance of religious zealots (of whom Barr is a member), corporate extremists and white nationalists have their empty vessel in trump.  They will continue to stick with him because they see a complete transformation of our country within reach.  I'm just not seeing anything to stop this.  Sorry for sounding so dramatic.  Again, I hope I'm wrong.

These predictions of Twitler retaining power scare me.  He was *joking* about being President for life again at his most recent disgusting rally.  He is a dictator at heart and in his mind and if he is not stopped, America as we know it is over.

Like you, I also feel the darkness gathering in strength.  But that is to be expected.  Right now, Trump and his minions are trying to show the world that they are in charge.  That impeachment is hurting the democrats, and that nothing can stop him.

Fine.  Except for one important thing.

HIS SUPPORT IS A BIG FAT LIE!

Yes, he has the support of millions who have slipped into darkness.  But consider these facts:

(1) Dozens of Republicans are retiring or not seeking re-election.  Far more than the handful of Democrats not coming back.

(2) Trump stages his rallies with people who are already pre-screened, so he knows they will cheer for him.  But when he shows up to neutral sites (a wrestling event, a baseball game), he is booed.

(3) The polls are wrong because they are ignoring the millions of true independents, the moderate Republicans, and those who are not likely to answer polls.  The "true silent majority."  And the thought of Trump having four more years of scandals, investigations, etc. will be enough to convince many of them to either sit out or vote democrat.  Consider that the number of true democrats far outnumber the Republican base.  Without the moderates, Republicans don't stand a chance.

(4) Trump will have his taxes released.  Even if the conservatives outnumber the liberals on the Supreme Court, three of those conservatives are Bush holdovers.  They are strict Constitutionalists, and they know that if they chose to shield Trump, then their decision will also shield future Democrat presidents.  Also, a decision to protect Trump will increase the powers of the executive branch, which could one day be used to limit the judicial branch.  The Supreme Court is not stupid.  Trump's taxes will be a big blow on his case.

(5) This impeachment is not meant to get rid of Trump.  Rather, it is being used to trap Republicans.  Seriously, do you truly believe that this is all they have on Trump.  There is darkness going on, but the Democrats are concealing information too.  They will release it when the time is right, and Republican senators will be faced with a choice of voting for impeaching Trump or not.  If they continue to do so, they will be destroyed at their elections.  Remember, ever since Trump was elected, Republicans are losing their seats, not gaining.

Darkness is here, but it serves to hide the rising blue tide that will wash away the evil that Trump has unleashed.  So don't lose heart.  Sometimes darkness can be used to serve the light.

Very insightful. I also remind myself that lots of Republicans have left the party. The current polls is only reflecting the diehards still supporting T.  So it's not a real reflection.

There's Gemini full moon energy today and tomorrow making everything feel more intense. Hang in there friends. We'll get through this.

As I understand from the news, the House is asking the Supreme Court to make decisions regarding T’s taxes being turned over to them on a very fast track and have both cases decided together. Best case, they refuse to take the cases and the last decisions that the taxes must be turned over will stand, worst case is that they agree to hear it on an accelerated schedule. The matters will be addressed by the Supreme Court on Friday. Things could change for T. very suddenly.

@Allyn thank you for that.  We have to remember at of the day the rule of law will succeed.  The polls are manipulated.  I just saw a post on Twitter siteing four different polls.  All show in verying degrees the pro/con of. dump. The average was 42/58. Please remember his fanatics are only about 25% of the population.  His tax returns will show tax fraud at least.  Barr is behind all of this with his 750 page manifesto redefining the powers of the president.  It is not constitutionally sound and I don’t think the SCOTUS will let it pass.  I just keep reminding myself  the darkness comes in waves

Thank's I needed that! (I feel like I needed a Cher in Moonstruck moment where she slaps Nicholas Cage's character and says "Snap out of it"!!)

I noticed that on YT, other social media etc. the comments have been more vile than before. I think it's a combination of the base and Russian bots riling people up against the dems. Part of that is why I have felt deflated. Their energy is so bad I couldn't help but feeling it.

I know in my heart that when the Taxes come out (matter of time) it'll be the Orange Nightmare's downfall. I feel and saw many times there is still more that will finally force him out. This is just a piece of the puzzle.

The dems must overload the polling places and vote like never before. People who never vote need to be shamed in doing so. I hope someday they make it a law that you must vote, and if you can't do so in person you have to by mail.

well things were supposed to be decided last week. Ruth Bader-Ginsburg put a hold on it. I don't know why.

I understood the hold to be a standard procedure (giving time for motions from both sides to be filed) and that things will start happening on Friday.

I am glad I gave you hope, but remember this is not the wishful thinking of someone who hopes Trump will leave.  He and the Republicans seem all powerful right now, but their power is an illusion.  It is nothing more than a bluff.  By flooding social media and the airways with their hate, they feel they can intimidate the rest of us and cause us to lose hope.

Nice try, Trump.  But we are more determined, more intelligent, and more light-driven than you will ever be.

So keep flooding the airway with false polls and fake facts.  Keep screaming "witch hunt" and demonstrate to the country exactly what another four years will be like.  Keep doing what you are doing and deny the consequences of your actions as the democrats continue to take government seats and republicans lose elections.  In short, keep lying to yourself as we take our country back from your dirty little hands.  Your denial of the situation serves our purpose well.

And don't underestimate the democrats, either.  They got more up their sleeve than we know.  They are waiting for just the right moment.  Remember when the FBI released a letter a few days before the 2016 election concerning Hillary Clinton?  Don't be surprised if Democrats release something very soon near the conclusion of Trump's impeachment trial with the Senate.

The best thing for us to remember is that Republicans are selfish.  The senate members will realize that by giving Trump a free pass on using his influence to pressure other countries to get dirt on his opponents, they will open the floodgates, which means that a Democrat can do it too.  And that means that the Senate members are not safe either.

Sorry to be a downer, but even if the majority of voters won't vote for Cheetolini [again],  there are still no protections in place, the security of the vote is in jeopardy. I'm not even talking about social media stuff - I mean that literally the Russians, Chinese and Saudis all have vested interests in killing what's left of our democracy. AND the electoral college still exists. Those two factors combined could very well mean that the minority rule will go on unabated.

To a point....their deceptions work so long as the votes are close.

If the votes are close, then votes can be changed with little suspicion.  However, if there is a blue wave of voters, they will swamp the system.  The votes can still be changed, but change them too much and the plot will be discovered.
