If you guys have seen, there was a shooting at Pear Harbor

https://apple.news/AiJ9Jo6wrSuSealAbVNeVCg

I feel like there is at least 1 shooting a month. I don’t remember these happening  each month when Obama or any other President before the Orange Bafoon.

what is going on? Is the dark energy in this country brining our the worst in people. I feel people are more aggressive and rude.  I have never picked up so much negative energy until now.

There is school shooting and or an event shooting or bar shooting. I can go on and on.

The election of the Orange nightmare brought out all the negative energies some folks were keeping inside - they felt by T's example they could be more brazen and more negative. That somehow it was "ok". That's what I noticed.

Many on the site said that the tides will be shifting in the mid-to-late 2020s. I was wondering what are the changes that need to happen for the negative energy to go away?

I don't believe the negative energy will ever go away, however in order for the light to rise up we have to hit rock bottom (the way folks do when they are dealing with an addiction, they must hit bottom before they can rise out of it). Part of that is recognition of what is wrong and recognizing our collective fears. Once that happens then we can turn the tide.

The youth today - the generation that will be able to vote in 2020 - will be rising up, speaking out and voting their disgust with our current situation.  2020 election (in my opinion) will have more youth voting than ever before in the past several elections. There will be more tampering and cheating which will cause chaos too.  This won't happen overnight but I believe gradually over the next 8 years the tides will turn.

I pray what I've felt is right too - I have fears about all of this too. I can't stand to hear or listen to T or his evil GOP minions on TV so I choose to limit my exposure.

You are right that the evil that Trump and the Republicans have perpetrated will not disappear overnight.  And you are correct about the youth vote being important to the 2020 election.  With the odds against Democrats, Moderates, and Independents already due to gerrymandering and the electoral college, we need the Millennials and the Post-Millennials to come out in force.

But as bad as things are getting, I can't help but enjoy Trump supporters lie to themselves that karma/divine retribution is not coming for them.  Never mind that it came for Michael Flynn, Roger Stone, Michael Comey, Paul Manafort, etc.  Never mind that Trump publically solicited foreign interference to mess with American elections.

My response to the Trump supporters who get in my face to declare their holy devotion to all things Trump, just remember one thing.  "If the rules don't apply to you, then they don't apply to us."

Yep, remember that, Republican House and Senate members.  Remember that by saying that it is ok for Trump to (1) continue to make money off of his businesses while in office, (2) abuse the power of the presidency to get governments to declare phony investigations just so you can get elected, (3) declare national emergencies just so he can divert funds to pay for his wall, (4) declare phone and emails "classified" and have them sent to a private server (BUT WHAT ABOUT HILLARY'S EMAILS?!), (5) allow Trump to rile up his base to go after Democratic opponents and media outlets, (6) ban reporters from the White House, and (7) (Insert blank here, because whatever it was, Trump has done it, and we simply don't have enough time to go through his sins and corrupt acts).

But, yeah.  Republicans, that means that the next Democratic President can do whatever he or she wants!  Whether it is getting rich off of their business while in office, or declaring an emergency to divert money from your states to focus on global warming or more health care, or soliciting a government to dig up dirt on you!  If you want to have your followers to go around and patrol voting booths with guns, then we can too!  If you want to send bombs to CNN and MSNBC, what makes you think we won't, if you continue to ignore the rules of common decency?  Because it will happen!  So keep doing what you are doing and hope and pray that the other side doesn't snap and decide that the only way to combat the lies, terror, and corruption that you continue to inject into our country is to fight with force.  So keep doing what you are doing and give Trump free reign.  Because that just gives us more power in the long run.

So...ready to follow the rules now?  Because that is the only way that Democrats will keep to the rules when they regain power.  Deep down, you know this.  But if you foolishly continue to ignore the rule of law and play your double standard, don't expect that the post-Trump government or history will care one bit about what happens to you.

more shootings, and the police are yelling at the NRA. To me there are certain things that can't be stopped. Gay marriage, gays in the workplace etc. is one thing. Climate control is another. Gun control is another. Eventually you start to look absolutely ridiculous opposing them. Not that people don't already look stupid, but their opinion of people holding these things back is going to get worse and worse.  Another movement that can't be stopped is the empowerment of women.  I believe that.

Sadly, nothing short of a mass shooting at an NRA convention or gun show will stop Republicans from refusing to pass sensible gun control laws.  The sad truth is that the Republican party has become the epitomy of selfishness.

Don't get me wrong.  All human beings are selfish to a degree, and that's actually a good thing.  When people preform good acts of charity, part of the reason they do so is because they get personal happiness from doing so.  Hence, they do it for partly selfish reasons.  So selfishness, like all other human traits and emotions, can actually be a good thing.

The problem is that the Republican party and Trumpers no longer have any empathy.  They care nothing for people suffering or children being placed in cages away from their parents.  They don't bat an eye when children are gunned down, because they feel that there should be no limits on gun control period.  Have a violent past?  No problem!  Have assault rifles that you claim that you use for hunting, when it was actually created for the battlefield?  Who cares!

As I said, humans are selfish.  For some reason, kind and charitable acts do not bring Trump supporters pleasure.  I am sad to say that it will probably take a shooting event at a Trump rally or an NRA convention where many people die before something is done.  It is only when their lives become endangered when they will do something about it.

I won't get any pleasure from it when it happens (and it will eventually happen someday, because their acts will not go without consequences.  "He who lives by the sword will die by the sword.").  But I am sad to say that I won't feel much sympathy for them when it happens either.  It is hard to feel sorry for people who advocate violence on a daily basis against those they disagree with.  I want peace and kindness more than anything, but I feel that the only way these people will stop what they are doing is if they get a true taste of what they put the rest of us through.  I'm sorry, but my faith in my fellow man has been shattered.

you are right, but at some point - I mean it already looks awful that there is no change in gun control - I'm disgusted, that's all. I tend to be that way. The reason I am on this board is to read predictions that assure me everything will be all right - even though predictions can't always say that!

The only thing certain in this world is change.  The NRA cannot hold power forever.  The Republicans cannot lie forever.  Remember your disgust and use it to fuel your inner light.  The mere fact that you are disgusted by their inaction shows that all hope is not yet lost.  And remember that you are not alone in your feelings.
