Has anyone been following Pete Buttigieg? I have listened to a few interviews and I am impressed. He is thoughtful, straightforward, answers all questions posed to him. This guy is beyond smart!

Although Mayor Pete governs a fairly small community in South Bend, Indiana he has been successful in bringing both sides together to get things done. I think he has the capacity to govern this country for many reasons, but most importantly because he is modest, curious, kind, compassionate, bright and knows not only how to put an effective team in place, but is a team player. And he likes to read! A president who not only likes to read..he has authored  a book that he has actually written.

On his website I located the letter he wrote following the terrorist attack in New Zealand. I will see if I can find it and post a link.

I have a good feeling about him that runs very deep.

I would like to hear what others think.

I just saw him on youtube -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1ZHSe9ckCo especially around minute 2.20 when he starts talking about why he is running.  He says that his generation has a lot at stake which is why he wants more millennials involved in politics.  He's 37 years old which is young but  Kennedy was 42 years old when he began running for president so not that far off.  He was a Rhodes Scholar so he has a brain. I like that he uses the term "freedom" a lot. He's bringing back the terms the GOP stole and twisted, only he's using this term to mean what it is meant to mean, true freedom for Americans.

I don't know if he's going to go anywhere in this coming presidential election, but he's definitely going places. I've been impressed by him since I first heard him speak, like wow impressed. I get a very clean, light energy about him. I wouldn't be surprised if he shoots past some of the other more known candidates.

I think Buttigieg has a very bright future.  He's intelligent, modest, thoughtful, forward thinking and kind, the antithesis of what we see in the White House today.  I'm so impressed.

I really like him, too. My parents are Hoosiers, and my dad says Mayor Pete is liked, but he worries the gay thing will stop him from getting too far. I say if a town of 100,000+ in northern Red State Indiana, home of Notre Dame, can elect him, so can the US!

I agree with everything that's been said.  Very impressed with Buttigieg.  Wonderful energy, quiet strength.  Uses his brilliance wisely!  I sense he lives his core beliefs.  Someone on MSNBC was drawing a comparison between Buttigieg and Beto O'Rourke, commenting that Buttigieg was recently interviewed by Chris Wallace on Fox and was thoughtful, clear and detailed with his beliefs and proposed policies.  By comparison, this person felt that O'Rourke hasn't been very strong on substance.  I like Beto but have felt the same about him -- but in all fairness, the media isn't helping by putting too much focus on his ability to raise money, and energize and draw a crowd.

Back to Buttigieg -- I'd love to see him rise in the primary.  He needs to be heard.  Once more people are exposed to his message, I believe they'll really like what they see and hear.

Love Buttigieg, but I doubt he can win.... I think a likelier route for him is Governor or Senator.

BTW, for anyone who needs it, his name is pronounced BOOT-edge-edge

Hi Everyone,

When I participated in the January 2019 reading session and Jeanne asked us to look into Inauguration Day, I clearly saw a white man with dark hair with his hand on the Bible. But I couldn't see his face. At first I thought this may be a reference to Beto, but this guy's hair was very dark, black with no hint of gray and it was manicured, especially around his ear because I was seeing a side profile of him.

After watching an interview with Pete Buttigieg I really do think this is who I was seeing and I am starting to feel that I didn't see his face in my vision because I didn't know him yet.

Anyone else picking up anything on Mayor Pete?

Melissa,

I remember reading your post, but can’t recall where you posted it. Your post really resonated with me at the time. After listening to interviews with Mayor Pete..I thought that’s him! He’s the guy I think Melissa was referring to!

Although I support others running, there seems to be something unique about Pete. He certainly is a voice we need to hear from. I think all candidates will grow and learn from one another, at least that is my hope.

I have listened to every interview that I am aware of and remain impressed.

Hi Stardancer,

How funny you remembered that. That's so cool. Thank you for sharing that. Ever since I saw the dark haired man vision I have been checking out hair color and style of each candidate that comes onto the scene. haha! I agree with you there is something unique about Pete. A natural humility and what energetically feels like a higher calling of some sort. We shall see how it shakes out over time. :)

Also, fyi, Jeanne posted my description on the predictions page for January of 2021:

  • Although I saw Kamala Harris with a man on a victory stage after the election, the person with their hand on the book at Inauguration is a man with dark hair. (Melissa F.) predicted 2/2/2019

Melissa,

When I read your prediction, it seemed to land squarely and solidly on my heart. I did pretty much the same thing as you did as candidates began to sep forward. When I listened to Beto, my heart response was similar..it just didn’t fit your prediction and what I felt inside. It wasn’t him. I knew when I saw and heard Pete following watching an interview..that’s the guy she’s referring too.

I love the way you articulated your last response. I comepletly agree. I think he is the real deal.

Thinking back on Inauguration predictions, I remember seeing in one visioning session, a man with dark hair riding a dark horse down the Avenue towards the Inauguration stage.  The only problem is that I thought the man was in a military uniform, but can't be sure. This reading was way back in, I think, 2017.  One person thought that the horse symbol represented a dark horse candidate, which Pete Buttigieg would certainly be. But I'm not predicting it yet, just pointing out that vision I had. :-)  Also my vision was for 2025, not 2020.

Jeanne, I forgot about your vision about the dark haired man on a horse. Pete was a Navy reserve intelligence officer from 2009 to 2017 and spent 7 months in Afghanistan. Does that relate? Or was your military vibe more symbolic of something?

I don’t know. I can only share the vision.  At the time I didn’t like the vision. I wanted to see someone I knew or a woman and the military uniform scared me. He wasn’t on the inaugural platform but he is the vision I saw when I focused in the inauguration.

I've got a good feeling about Pete. As much as I'd love to see a woman as president, I think he'd be a great option for our current climate.  I too, saw a man and woman as our new leaders in the remote viewing. Putting energy into that vision instead of fear that Trump will remain. *ohmmmm*

I remember Jeanne's vision and thinking at the time that it represented a dark horse candidate with a military background or military support who some might find unsettling. Not sure if Pete fits the bill, as much as I'd love to see him win. Seth Moulton might though, and he seems to be considering jumping in. Keep an eye on him.

In Jan reading I also saw a tall person with a long black coat and women VP. Unsure how tall Pete is but I felt it was a man with dark hair. He is my favorite candidate.  I think he could help the middle class and others in the US.

I love Pete Buttigieg too! I like many of the Dem candidates, especially Kamala and Beto, but as soon as I saw the first video of Major Pete it really struck a deep chord. He's so intelligent and articulate and I love that he is young and an out-and-proud married gay man. It just feels like such a breath of fresh air in all the poisonous fumes of politics lately. I'm glad to hear of these visions and hope you're right.

His height isn't listed on Wikipedia.  There is a picture of he, his partner and Cher from the torso up.  Cher appears to be about 1-2" taller (can't tell if she is wearing heels).  Cher is listed as 5'9", so it is likely that Pete is no less than 5'7" and probably no taller than 5'9" tall.

There is another picture of him with Bradley Whitford (West Wing) and he is listed as 5' 11".  I'm going to guess Pete to be around 5' 8"....perfectly average height.

Totally my opinions, nothing intuitive here, but I LOVE Pete Buttigieg and think IF he can get the nomination (I'll come back to that in a minute), he stands a good chance of winning. I think that despite him being gay, the rural voters would like him. The "pros" are substantial: veteran who fought in a war, white, male, from the midwest, his overall bearing is non-threatening to other males but also not weak.

As much as I love Harris and Warren, I do not believe for one second that ANYONE from a big city on either coast can win in 2020, much less a woman. I do think a female VP candidate would be ideal.  And even though I really like Beto, he's fizzling out because he's coming across as a goofball with no real policy statements.

I also think that the DCCC will force the nomination to a "coastal elite" in an effort to appease the coastal elites that the DCCC thinks is their base. They just don't get it. They'll do what they did in 2016 and manipulate the outcome at the convention. If you have any doubts, look at the recent policy statement from DCCC from last week, in which they state that new, young dems who try to primary dem incumbents in 2020 will be swatted down. If that's not a clear statement that says they're planning to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory again, I don't know what is.
