It was just announced that Beto O'Rourke is dropping out to the race.  There are candidates with less money, and poll numbers still in the race.  How many more do you think will drop out before the next debate in November?  Harris is reportedly cutting her staff in Baltimore and New Hampshire and re-deploying to Iowa.  She is spending $1.25 for each dollar she has raised and has been continuing to drop in the polls.  I wonder what November will bring for everyone still running.  I think we will be seeing many more dropping out this month.

I agree.  I think the DNC is probably pushing candidates who are not pulling strongly in polls to drop out sooner rather than later.

The impeachment proceedings are part of this.  Everything connected to impeachment is going to take a lot of attention and energy away from the Dem candidates, and strategically, it may be better for the Democratic Party to narrow things down to the "top" candidates so that they can present a clearer picture to Americans of what the future could look like going forward.

If -- and I still think it's a big "if" -- Trump does leave office, the Democratic Party will probably need to have its strongest candidate in place pretty quickly.   It will be even more important to do this if Trump does not leave office via impeachment.

It will also be important for fundraising; Trump is still outpacing all of the individual Democratic candidates in fundraising.  The total raised for ALL Dem candidates is more than for Trump, but I suspect that you'd really want to start concentrating the money into a top candidate as soon as possible as a hedge against Trump not being impeached.

The only way the Dems are going to win is with a strong united front.  Right now we don’t have that.  Bernie, mayor Pete and Biden are all turning on Warren.  They need to be careful with how much ammunition they give the Republicans.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I had a "flash" in my mind that made me drag out my pendulum and ask if I was right. I've been getting mixed messages on both my pendulum and tarot cards about the dem candidate. I got a positive outcome when I asked "will Elizabeth Warren by Potus in 2021?".  Then I asked about Bernie (got a no) and then Biden. I got a Yes on Biden too? I was so confused.

So then I asked my pendulum, Will Biden be the candidate and will he pick Warren? I got yes (!). Then I asked "Will Biden drop out, leaving Warren as the dem candidate and she picks Bernie?" and got a Yes!  Ok I can have all my wires crossed here for this but just want to know if this resonates with anyone or I should have my pendulum cleared asap!?!?

When I read your post, I saw Biden/Warren ticket winning and then Biden having to leave office during his term for health reasons. I have no thoughts on how Bernie fits into this, but it isnt unthinkable that if the scenario happens, Warren picks Bernie for VP. I do, however, feel she would a younger VP in that event, and Buttigieg first comes to mind.

As we have seen for decades now, politicians can make themselves get along very easily if it helps their careers. Thats the first line of the job description. Lol. Bush couldnt stand Quayle, McCain thought Palin was an idiot, Pence hates Trump, and I still cant see how Obama and Biden's personalities worked well with each other but all have.

Everyone thought Palin was an idiot (LOL) ? And it turns out not only did Biden and Obama get along they became very good friends. You are right about politics. As a matter of fact, I know that the Clintons and the Bush's are actually close. I know folks that golfed with both Bill, Bush Jr and Sr.

I think you may be right about how you see it playing out and it explains what I've seen vs. the questions I've asked.

I know this has been said before by me and others on different threads, but I really think prognosticating about the Dem nominee, let alone the 2020 winner, is of limited value at this point. Too much energy is in flux. And a Biden/Warren ticket sounds both too white and geriatric (that latter point is just my personal opinion). Maybe the ambiguous answers are your pendulum's way of saying it's too early to tell?

Back to the original topic of this thread, I'm really hoping all of the nondescript white guys drop out soon: Delaney, Bennet, Bullock, Steyer, Sestak. Their motivations for running are based solely on the prestige of saying "I tried to beat Donald Trump." And the promise of prestige, media attention, and greater name recognition is why T ran for president in the first place. So really, let's cut the peacocking, guys.
