I just watched a news piece on Brazil. 22,000 deaths and more cases than  any other country except for the United States.

The miles and miles and miles of mass graves was a absolutely heart breaking reality check.

? (((People of Brazil))) ?

Blessings and prayers and great great strength in this horrifically challenging time after so many all ready

Some good news about African countries doing well to manage COVD-19:

Senegal is in a good position because its Covid-19 response planning began in earnest in January, as soon as the first international alert on the virus went out. The government closed the borders, initiated a comprehensive plan of contact tracing and, because it is a nation of multiple-occupation households, offered a bed forevery singlecoronavirus patientin either a hospital or a community health facility.

As a result, this nation of 16 million people has had only 30 deaths. Each death has been acknowledged individually by the government, and condolences paid to the family. You can afford to see each death as a person when the numbers are at this level.

I mean, wow, imagine your country caring for you in this way and being a person rather than a number!

I have a comment to make about the way the CARES Act is now being implemented by the IRS. I was under the impression that everyone would get their share of relief money thru either direct deposit (if the IRS had your information for direct deposit) or a paper check.  I recently learned that the IRS is now sending preloaded bank debit cards instead of checks to residents in certain states.

I smell a rat here. I suspect that this procedure is being followed to enrich a favored special interest, namely big banks like the one whose name is on the debit cards. Among other things, this card isn't always free of fees. Fee free cash withdrawals are possible at some ATM terminals, but not others. There is a charge for balance inquiries.  They also impose a limit on the amount you can withdraw from an ATM machine on a given day.  Therefor you may not have immediate access to all of your preloaded money on the card. You cannot add money to your card. Only the government can do that

The NY Times has printed all the names of the dead that died because of the virus. This is more powerful then just hearing the numbers. This was on the front page.

@jessi1978. Thank you for posting this tribute. When we read a few of the brief stories, it blows the mind:

Lila Fenwick, 87, was "the first black woman to graduate from Harvard Law."
Romi Cohn, 91, "saved 56 Jewish families from the Gestapo."
Angeline Michalopulos, 92, "was never afraid to sing or dance."
April Dunn, 33, was an "advocate for disability rights."
Patricia H. Thatcher, 79, "sang in her church choir for 42 years."
Fred Gray, 75, "liked his bacon and hash browns crispy."
Harley E. Acker, 79, "discovered his true calling when he started driving a school bus."
Frank Gabrin, 60, was an "emergency room doctor who died in his husband's arms."
Skylar Herbert, 5, was "Michigan's youngest victim of the coronavirus pandemic."
Philip Kahn, 100, "World War II veteran whose twin died in the Spanish Flu epidemic a century ago."
William D. Greeke, 55, "thought it was important to know a person's life story."
An incalculable loss.
Dan Barry, a veteran writer for The Times, has an essay inside the paper about "The Human Toll" of the pandemic to date.
"Imagine," he writes, "a city of 100,000 residents that was here for New Year's Day but has now been wiped from the American map."

Looking at New York Times interactive tracking of Covid, the U.S. looks to be the extreme epicenter of the world with New York City and Boston the epicenters so far of the U.S.

@5leafclover We got one of those preloaded cards a few days ago. I agree that wondering if the banks are going to be enriched by fees is a fair question. But honestly I was happy to get the card rather than a paper check with the Mango Menace's name on it. We are using our card to pay for groceries going forward until the balance runs out, so trying to convert it to cash isn't an issue. (We also did not qualify for the full amount so using up the card is not likely to take terribly long.)

A friend of mine posted that she would have been attending her son's wedding in Italy today, had the pandemic not happened. She does not know when that wedding will now take place.  She said ilst all f anyone had told her she would be working as an ICU nurse during a pandemic this spring,  she never would never have believed them.

So, that got me thinking.  I now know 3 young women who have had babies during the pandemic, one just 2 days ago. One young lady was a flower girl at my wedding , another a god sister of my daughter.  I know they never would have thought they would be having children during a pandemic.

Last fall, we never would have dreamed of all the ways our lives would change because of a pandemic.  For those adjusting to the big event changes, the little bothersome adjustments, the continued emotional roller coaster ride, the fear of the unknown, the loss of what was or what could have been and the new found joy of what now is, I want to remind you that you are not alone.  We are all facing these moments.

Morn, celebrate, breathe, adjust, contemplate, grow, expand, face the unknown, live with purpose.

We have many more adjustments, some we haven't even dreamed of yet, still to come.

Somehow, you have figured out how to live through this pandemic. Look at what you have accomplished!!!

Oh the stories you will be able to share with the ones that are yet to come, or are too little to understand.  Write them, tell them, share them.  They are your stories, and they are incredible!

Beautifully expressed, @lovendures --THANK YOU!

These are the lyrics--Forever Young--I've been turning to these past weeks.  Perfect for all ages, including (especially?!) newborns!  I've italicized the 4 lines that have been running through my thoughts all morning and afternoon today and, I think, echo your words, "Oh the stories you will be able to share with the ones that are yet to come, or are too little to understand.  Write them, tell them, share them.  They are your stories, and they are incredible!"

And here's a link to Joan Baez singing Forever Young live at a '75 concert, one of my favorite renditions:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4YP6WNfXa0

FOREVER YOUNG  --by Bob Dylan

May God bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
May you stay forever young
May you stay forever young

May you grow up to be righteous
May you grow up to be true
May you always know the truth
And see the light surrounding you
May you always be courageous
Stand upright and be strong
May you stay forever young
May you stay forever young

May your hands always be busy
May your feet always be swift
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift
May your heart always be joyful
May your song always be sung
And may you stay forever young
May you stay forever young

@lovendures

None of us foresaw this coming. There were predictions that things would start getting very bad for the Orange one around the ides of a March, and they certainly have.
But did anyone see this coming?

it sure has been exhausting. My exercise was in a rec center pool most of all. Now I mostly cook and eat too much. Some days are better than others. I’m getting some things done. Also getting scary lab tests about kidney disease as well as my incredibly high numbers for Epstein Barr, even though I’m apparently not having an active bout now.

My therapy is done by zoom which is good and bad. Even though I get out to grocery shop and go to a couple of other stores, I used to be agoraphobic, and I’m getting used to not going out much. I’m having fatigue, mostly in the a.m. and tough to know how much is emotional and how much physical.
There are times I’ve seen how good can come of this, but I’m discouraged by the “babies” who are crying and showing assault rifles because they are told to not go out and that they need to wear a mask. It seems like many or most of these people are the ones who want to carry guns everywhere so they can save lives, as they say. But they don’t care if they give a deadly virus to others by not wearing a mask???

I’m grateful I don’t live alone and have plenty of what I need.....except more socialization and sense of freedom. Having great entertainment on TV and to stream is so giving by creative people who tend to be liberals. Not all, but many.
I’ve thought nearly every day what it was like for the Jews that were hiding from Nazis. They couldn’t go outside at all and had to hide indoors if lucky enough. And these people here are complaining because they can’t do what they want. Here in Oregon, people are following rules for the most part, but there certainly those having shit fits. It’s rather discouraging to see people that call themselves patriotic and/or religious are just the opposite and not aware.

And back to wondering why no one saw this coming...

Thank you for the link and the lyrics.  I saw Joan Baez and Dylan together in '82( I think it was) at the Peace Sunday concert at the Rose Bowl.  My high school friend and I knew it was a historic moment, at it was, for sure. They sang 3 songs together, one was Blowing in the Wind.

And back to wondering why no one saw this coming...

We knew that something huge was coming.

For four straight years I posted on the main prediction page that I saw late 2019 and 2020 as a time when there would be a major game-changing crash of some kind. For a few years, I thought it was going to be an economic crash but one that was so big that it would cause a paradigm shift.

Later I began to feel it was also some kind of major crash in the collective emotions of our people.  I wrote on the main Predictions Page, it would be a game changer, that it would prompt a migration away from the cities, towards more rural living, away from Trump and the federal government, that it would be economically very difficult but would serve as a reset to a better life.

Over time, I stopped harping on it.  I learned from this community that negative predictions can harm people. I told my clients and others to get rid of debt before late 2019. If they were planning to divest real estate or other holdings, to do it before then. Then last fall, I mentioned it again in the forum.

But people get pretty scared when you tell them something big and bad in coming, so you have to be careful and remember that perhaps you don't know.  And above all do no harm - don't terrify people.

But I did not see the crash would be a pandemic.

Because we have never lived through a global pandemic and it is difficult to "see" what we have no point of reference for. I wondered aloud in this forum and on the prediction page what could be so painful to us in 2020 that it would become a game changer. But pandemic was not something I would have thought of.  I felt it had more to do with economic and political hardship, which it certainly has been as well. I figured the markets would crash badly and also that Trump would go all out totalitarian, imprisoning the press.  I figured that was bad enough for a game changer.

In October, a few of us saw a major stress rising in the Collective in April. I posted it.  I thought that this would be the worst month, and it was. We mostly thought it would be Trump related because that was the source of our stress.

That said, we have posted over 70 separate lines of visions from people here that either there is a pandemic or illness going on, that there is a bug that is being studied in the lab, that  people are sheltering down, that store shelves are empty as well as streets. These are predictions going back as far as two years.

I have posted those visions and keep posting them as I notice them.

wow. Looks like I had my mind on trump and the economy and totalitarianism that I didn’t somehow see this! My apologies.

This so interesting to me, as I learn more about intuition and have followed this site for the last few years. I am sure I read through all of those things! But our minds don't always put the puzzle together, even if it is right in front of us, do they? We truly see/understand only as much as our minds and perspectives allow us at a given time. Fascinating, frightening, but ultimately, humbling. Makes me want to keep on this path of centering/meditating (that I have just started on) and keeping my mind open to all the possibilities.

?

My heart hurts for all the families who lost loved ones.  My sister’s husband just died from cancer and I just spent the last week with her and watched her struggle each day with her loss.

Do you know how badly I would like to respond to your message Jeanne, especially after what you said in Monday's class and Wednesday's meditation?

It would start with 2 words. "Yes Jeanne..."

(I hope you can hear me smiling right now.)

I think we all were envisioning something different. The pandemic caught us by surprise because we were expecting something else, like a sudden deep-dive stock market crash, or a quickly unraveling executive branch of the U.S. government turning full fascist on us, or catastrophic climate change acceleration.

These were our expectations, because we could potentially "see" them from where we stood. And some of what we expected to see has happened and is currently happening. Thankfully, people in many circles are working hard to protect the good parts of what's left of our social and political systems; others are working to try to keep us from economic collapse. More work needs to be done to prevent climate catastrophes.

Like Jeanne said, the pandemic was not something we could clearly "see" because we had no frame of reference. Only now that we are IN a pandemic are we reading about past events like the Spanish flu and understanding more personally what it means to go through a health crisis like that. This is the reason our current situation caught us by surprise, even though so many predictions pointed to it.

Had the spirits whispered "Covid" or "Corona" to us back then, it would not have meant a thing. And had they said "global pandemic," the fear these words would have generated would have been too great, I think.

Instead, the spirit world told us things like "something big" happens to "slow us down."  Jeanne saw a "lightning strike" for this time, which in retrospect is quite accurate.

Some people, including Karen and Andrew, offered predictions of a "virus," a "flu," and a "major public event."

But our expectations, for the most part, were elsewhere, and the swiftness with which our worlds would change as a result of this pandemic was not something we anticipated or could have ever imagined.

I got a letter from IQ45’s campaign asking for a donation. I took the letter outside, stomped on it, and then burned it in my grill. Not too dramatic.
