Watching  a documentary about history today sparked a thought - there are many of us who undertake activities for predicting the future. But I don't recall coming across anyone (contemporary) on the web who deals with looking back into the past (is there a word for this?). I think probably because we are more drawn to having insight into the unknown, the future.

But I was thinking, if we have psychic abilities whether through meditation, cartomancy, tarot or other means to have an insight into future possibilities, couldn't we do the same to understand or have better clarity about historic events. As they say, history is often written by the victors, and of course it does happen that things from the past are not portrayed correctly or fully in history books or other documents. So it could be fascinating to get a better understanding of what actually may have been, or if there is indeed much difference from what we think occurred.

I'm curious, does anyone do this? If so, do you do this in the same way as you make predictions, or is some other ways of working required?

I think I might try this , using tarot cards as they are what I use for prediction.

I'd love to hear other's thoughts on this. It might even be a good exercise for practicing prediction if a few of us picked some historical event and contributed what we came up with to see if we have any similarities. Could be fun and interesting:)

I'd love to hear other's thoughts on this topic of reading the past.

Hi Blue.  There are people who actively remote view into the past.  It is very similar to people who remote view into the future or present.  The people I am aware of who do this often do it "blindly" on a given subject without knowing where they are supposed to remote view.  It is interesting because they often seem to go to to correct place and time.

Such a great topic to have started for us!   Yes, people do read the past.  There are books on reading for archeological purposes in which they found ancient sites that way.  Can't think of titles at the moment but I may have one in my library.

I've done it. I love doing it. It's the same process as reading the future or the present. We could change the title of this thread slightly and begin a Q&A of reading the past.  Ask about any issue.  I'm very interested in it.

This past week in my Intuitive Way on-line class, I led the class in a past life reading where they were guided to see a life they lived in.  It's the same process.  What was Shakespeare thinking about while writing Hamlet?  What were Ann Bolyn's true feelings for Henry before and during their marriage?

I've also read the past to find out what happened to a boy who went missing.  I was able to accurately retrace his steps of two weeks earlier by meditating on a timeline that goes backwards.

What did Queen Isabella really think of Christopher Columbus when she invested all that money into his voyages?   Etcetera.

I hope it's okay with you that I edited the topic title so we could invite people to start reading the past. It would be fun to throw cards on past events, and past people.

Of course, thanks very much Jeanne. I've yet to settle on a particular event or person, but I hope others will have some ideas too:)

Okay, I'll give this a spin. Did Nikola Tesla really unlock the secrets of free energy, and did JP Morgan really destroy Tesla's career and instigate a conspiracy to maintain energy scarcity?

I referenced Tesla and free energy in a different thread several weeks ago, so this is the first "history's mystery" that came to mind.

Coyote... You certainly picked one of the most fascinating and enigmatic characters in Nikola Tesla! What a sad and tortured genius he was, poor guy, and so ripped-off it seems throughout his lifetime.

I do see that he developed the secrets of 'free energy', and like Einstein, wanted to give his inventions and discoveries for the betterment of mankind... and we know how that ended vis a vis the controlling governments involved, and the capitalists like J.P.Morgan and Wall Street. I feel Morgan most definitely ruined Tesla.....

There was some conspiracy talk about the Nazis being in the US during WWll, and being responsible for his death in 1943. What is your take on that? They are said to have confiscated all of his blueprints and materials at the time... and also to have been involved with the US CIA.

Thanks for the input Stargazer. I don't have any honed psychic abilities, so I can't read into the past or future. Nor do I know what to say about the Nazi connection, as this is the first time I've heard of it. But when I look into the historical literature and read about all of the planetary/astrophysical forces that act upon Earth, I do get the sense that Tesla discerned something of profound significance. In Sacred Economics, Charles Eisenstein writes that "Today, there are a least five or ten different energy technologies that seem to violate the Second Law of Thermodynamics. If you research the field, you will find a sordid history of confiscated research, destroyed careers, and even mysterious deaths of researchers."

As for free energy itself, I've come around to believing that we have to evolve in cultural and spiritual terms in order to rediscover Tesla's insights. As Eisenstein also writes, "on some level humanity has not been ready for the gift of energy abundance, and probably won't be ready for some decades to come, until we have entered deeply and thoroughly the spirit of the gift [economy]...our governing paradigms, rooted in separation and scarcity, are constitutionally unable to encompass free-energy technologies, which are dismissed as impossible, fraudulent, or fantastical."

As Spock would say... "Fascinating"

It's interesting that Einstein, and Tesla, were of the Utopian mind isn't it, and although both were conned and used for their great genius and avant garde insight, they both let their immeasurable discoveries be known in the hope that the world would be a better place for everyone.

I believe that Einstein deeply regretted his naive (?) complicity in letting the nuclear genie out if the bottle, and toward the end of his life lamented it... though he realized that if he hadn't, someone else would have come along after him.

Tesla was very driven and compulsive about manifesting his great creations, even to the point of  "eunuch-izing" himself so that women would leave him be to pursue his goals. He was a 'bit' extreme in everything he did, and I am of the impression that his early life had a great bearing on his humanitarian outlook. His Serbian father was an Archbishop, and at some point, Tesla was exposed to the immense Vatican library in his youth.

Did you know that Tesla also anticipated the Internet as we know it today? I wonder what he might think of our world in turmoil as it is in the 21st century, doing the political and natural disasters limbo?

Great suggestions! Nikola Tesla is definately an interesting one to look at. I'll try and have a look at this, but I need to get the questions framed right for myself first (I don't ask closed questions with tarot), so I'll have a think on that.

I've done this a number of times with surprising results. I read on Richard III once to see if he had actually murdered his nephews - and while I didn't get a definitive the energy around him was some of the darkest I'd ever experienced.

I've done an hour long past life regression meditation 4 times in the last 2 months. Three of those times took me to a life in first century Rome as a soldier stationed near the alps in Italy. Each meditation gave me more insight - in one I found myself exhausted, drenched in blood and sweat after a battle, barely standing staring at bodies all around me. In another when asked to go to my death in that life I began to choke, my throat closed up and this continued for some time even after I took myself out of the meditation - it wasn't like normal choking, my throat really felt like it was closing up. Another life that I glimpsed briefly in one meditation was in France sometime around 1400, where I was a nobleman murdered by family at the age of 29 for being too kind and not mercenary enough - I got that I was viewed as a soft fool and everyone from my wife, to my mother and my brother thought badly of me.

I don't know what any of this means, if it's my imagination or not - but it sure felt real, the choking especially so.

History is usually written by the winners, looking back can give us more insights but sometimes also more questions.

Natalie- when I read your past life’s detail it felt like the choking part equals someone being strangled to death.  Maybe something like this happened in your past life?

In participating in Jeanne’s Intuitive Way last week, I saw a previous life in Europe, probably during the Middle Ages.  I found myself in a rural location, in a field with a tree line in the distance.  I was a boy, dressed in rough, simple shirt and pants with soft leather shoes on my feet.  I could hear church bells tolling in the distance and walked along a rough, rutted dirt road toward the sound of the bells.  The church was built of stone as were all the other buildings along the way.  When I arrived at the church, there was a walled courtyard behind it.  As I entered the courtyard, I saw monks and realized I worked for them, growing their food and keeping their bees.  When I looked down at my arms, they were covered in bee stings.

I thought I'd do a reading on JP Morgan and Tesla but it was more about how Morgan felt about Tesla, reasons for his actions towards him etc. To summarise, what I felt the cards were saying was that he was jealous of Tesla's intelligence, skills, and maybe also wanted to have achievements that Tesla did (awards/recognition?). There was something clandestine also, like Morgan wanted to steal something from Tesla, his knowledge/secrets/truths..I'm not sure what exactly but it was a very underhand, sneaky, sabotage kind of feeling, and he wanted to halt Tesla's progress and maybe even weaken him somehow.

The outcome for Tesla (via the cards) was that Tesla was halted from progressing on his journey (scientific journeys, ambition, discoveries etc.). Morgan limited him somehow. I pulled a kipper card for a clarifier and got the Court House - I'm not sure what that meant. Maybe he used 'legal' means (contracts or other legal activities?) to help  limit Tesla, or used the 'establishment' or conventions of something to do this. If anyone knows what this might refer to please let me know!:)

I don't know enough about Morgan, but it was very a interesting reading. One thing I did find out afterwards was that they did know each other quite well, Tesla would often visit Morgan's house. So it is quite possible that as Morgan got to know Tesla he began to feel some jealousy toward him (whether consciously or not).

It really makes one wonder what if...Blue. Considering J.P. Morgan and all of his cronies at the time, and the Great Depression rolling in which canned Tesla's dream of free energy for the whole world's enrichment...

I do see that Tesla, with his Old World manners, and the celebrity that he garnered was a thorn in Morgan's side as they were polar opposites... it is so sad that Tesla wasn't allowed to perfect his 'free energy' project. What a different course this world would have been on into the present.

Following my last reply in "I felt the earth shaking" ... in regards to Etna.. I'm not very good at reading the past, so would anyone be willing to do a remote viewing of sorts for Edgar Cayce? I can't imagine what kind of information he held! Might be interesting!
