Loved it!

Big burst to the population and many twins!  Sure seems like a significant sign to me!

"In fact, it’s a culmination, of sorts, for the country’s pachyderms. The Kenya Wildlife Service reported on Wednesday that, from 1989 to today, the nation’s elephant population has more than doubled. This is in part because authorities in the past couple of years have “managed to tame poaching in this country,” --Tourism & Wildlife Minister Najib Balala."

Great news!

Sri Lanka to ban imports of plastic goods to protect elephants.

"Sri Lanka will ban the import of most plastic products in a bid to protect wild elephants and deer that die eating the waste, the environment minister announced Friday.

Plastic in Sri Lankan landfills is a major killer of elephants, with autopsies showing kilos of it in the stomachs of animals who died after rummaging at dumps."

This sweet dog in Wales chased some seagulls into the sea and was swept out to the ocean. His rescue is really sweet to watch.

Inspiring @lovendures! ❤️

Animals are pure and bring so much joy. If there is anything we can do, it's help them and nature around us. If humanity has you down, there are always people like this who do things so full of love and care, that it can uplift anyone (I hope).

@share. The baby horse with the prosthetics (should have mentioned that with the link ? ) is something I find one of the most uplifting things ever. I showed a different one to my students 11 years ago and they were all driven to tears and hope. To see an animal that could barely walk, run with such pure happiness is fantastic. And the best thing of all these people doing this: there are all from different walks of life!

Now that is hopeful: love is everywhere. ❤️

Just beautiful!  Children and animals can carry very similar open hearted love and needs--why they all touch and open our own hearts so wonderfully and why we can love them all SO enormously and overwhelmingly much!!!!

Such wonderful news.

Mother orca Tahlequah, J35, has given birth to a calf.

You may remember 2years ago Tahlequah carried her dead calf for 17 days and 1,000 miles. Her grief gripped the hearts of people all around the world. I know I was heartbroken by the story and am so happy she is a mom again

Her new baby appeared "healthy and precocious, swimming vigorously alongside its mother in its second day of free-swimming life."

This story is fantastic.

It is about returning native tribal seed to their indigenous people so that they can once again grow the crops of their ancestors.  Many of the seeds were stollen from them, in some cases centuries ago. The seeds are being recovered from seed banks, university vaults, and museum shelves.

They call it "rematriation".

@jeanne-mayell, tagging you because you will love this story.
