@lovendures this is such fabulous news. I'm praying for everyone who requested it. I remember a woman I knew was in the hospital for surgery. She said people were praying for her, and she swears she actually felt it!

I am requesting prayer. I went back to work on May 12th in spite of being High Risk and 4 months shy of my 65th birthday. I currently still have no health insurance and I have 4 auto-immune diseases. Governor Kemp had my age/risk group still sheltering in place until June 12th. As some of you know.. I am a veterinary technician and was asked to come back in to work as certain guidelines would be in place.to protect me. They failed to follow their own guidelines about it...it is actually virtually impossible to enforce due to the nature of the work. Co-workers have stopped wearing their masks inside with each other, we have to get closer than the recommended 6 feet to do the work. They allowed 2 electricians in to work on lights and did not require them to mask up. I wasn't supposed to have client contact.. yet Saturday a co-worker requested my assistance in the parking lot with a patient whose owner was NOT wearing a mask. I have had to go out to cars for payments and give receipts and meds for pick-up ..with clients NOT wearing masks. Co-workers are getting back out and about like pre-covid...mingling with their families and going to restaurants etc etc.  This is fine for them.. they are younger...they set their own parameters.  I feel I am being jeopardized and am no longer an asset to the job because my needs for protection are not able to be met. I am choosing to retire - with the blessings and support of my grown daughter and son. I am very nervous about turning my two week notice in Tuesday...I have always been such a work horse.. but...it IS time I step down for my own good. I am relieved and nervous as hell all at once!!!! Please pray with me that they understand.. and ..possibly let me leave with out working that notice out. Cases have again begun rising in my area. 131 new cases since May 2nd.. and ..after this Wide open holiday weekend? I strongly suspect a big new wave is heading right at us.

Those words pretty much say it all.

@journeywithme2, You've been on my mind ever since you posted that you were returning to work.  I'm very glad that you've made this decision to leave and have the full support of your daughter and son.  I became angry as I read how your office isn't following their own guidelines.  The fact that the nature of your job requires the staff to sometimes be closer than 6 feet makes it incumbent upon your employer to have a very strict, no-exception mask policy -- for all of the staff, clients, and anyone who is entering the office.  That's the least they can do.  They're being very reckless and dangerous in condoning such behavior.

I understand that you have enjoyed your job and are a dedicated worker.  You may even worry more about letting people down, rather than first taking care of yourself.  (I was once one of those super dedicated workers and have a compromised immune system, so I've been there.)  It's entirely possible that your employer will understand, but I wouldn't worry or speculate about what their reaction might be.  And if you want to leave without working out the 2 weeks, you can make that choice too.  The bottom line is, they haven't honored their agreement with you.  And you are putting your life and your peace of mind first.  You are honoring yourself.

The most you can do is speak from the heart, the way you have posted here, and then let it go.  I am surrounding you in supportive and peaceful light, and you will be in my prayers on Tuesday.  I have a strong sense of peace about it.

They should be better than this, even the electricians.

You know,  don't stay the 2 weeks if you don't think you should.  Best of wishes and lots of love to you dear JWM2.

thank you so much ~ my daughter said the same thing... be ready to walk if you feel unsafe at any time. My son and his girl just left. We had a social distancing pizza dinner. They ate at a table in the yard and I sat on the porch swing 15 feet or more away. They treated me and also brought me a a bag of tomatoes, corn and cantaloupe from the the local farmers market. I am learned to graciously receive ..a very hard lesson for me. ❤️

Sometimes I have found it difficult to receive of a gift.  I also know however  that there is joy in the giving . How happy your son must have felt to do something for you, something they knew you would appreciate and for you to graciously accept the gift.  Time with you, food for a meal and food from a farmers market.  Simple and yet loving gifts to treasure.  Allowing him t do something in this time of being distant from our loved ones spreads joy and love to all.

@journeywithme2.  I will certainly pray for you and hope they will understand that you can’t put your health at risk.  This must have been so stressful for you, going into work and seeing all the guidelines ignored.  I’m so glad you are following your intuition.  Be safe and be well, my friend.  Much love to you.  I agree that a bigger wave of COVID is coming.  It’s a perfect storm of stupid behavior and willful ignorance during a global pandemic.  I’m horrified on a daily basis.

@bluebelle & journeywithme2...

Amen to that bb ... it's been astounding since so many places have "opened" up... the carelessness that people are displaying where I live is way beyond the pale also.

Thanks to the ridiculous and totally unconscionable Great Idjit's lack of common decency and concern (understatement of course) and lethal false bravado, there will be a much higher spike in CV cases as everyone is rushing to appear "normal" again.

Being in the 'high risk' group myself, I am still self-isolating and will continue to do so for however long it takes ... our Gov in NM has released a partial opening of some business, but continues to be cautious, and requires everyone to mask up, no exceptions. Though many people from our neighboring state think it's ok to ignore this, as they have second homes here and frequent this area where I am.....

Kudos to you journeywithme2 !! You are so fortunate to be able to walk away from a potentially dangerous situation, and your courage is exemplary....

Best wishes & prayers for your health and happiness ?

Hi, everyone. Last week I asked for prayers for my grandmother. She had several heart blockages and there was no choice but for her to have bypass surgery. She came through the surgery well but unfortunately passed away Saturday morning. I appreciate all the help you sent to her - I know I will see her again.

Very sorry for your loss and wishing peace for you and your family. How wonderful that you know you will see her again. She is probably with you now. My grandmother died several years ago and I still feel her with me--sometimes I even hear her voice in my mind and her laugh. Before dementia took her mind, she was very fun-loving and I think she likes to kid with me. Whether you are able to perceive it or not, I've no doubt the loving connection you have with your grandmother remains intact. ❤️
