I would appreciate some positive light being thrown over to my part of the world in Arizona.

We are no longer just dealing with "Fake News" slogans.  It has gone to a new level and it happens to be where I live, impacting  the congressional election in MY district.   I am sick, just sick.  I actually know the Democratic Candidate, Dr. Hiral Tiperneni.  Our daughters were friends in school.  Her opponent's campaign, not a third party organization, has put up signs claiming she is a "FAKE DOCTOR".  The local news has fact checked this and confirmed she is a real doctor and still licensed,  She is a former ER doctor and current cancer research Doctor.  They also confirmed the "Fake Doctor" signs placed beside  Dr. Tiperneni's campaign signs are from her opponent's actual campaign.  Legally, they can't be removed.

I am so disgusted.  On Social media,  #fakedoctor  is sprouting up everywhere.

Doctor Tiperneni has endorsements from across the aisle including Grant Woods, former McCain Chief of Staff and AZ. Attorney General.  She also has had great support from Gabriel Giffords and astronaut  Mark Kelly.  (Giffords happens to be the most inspiring people I know.  She is the brightest of lights.  If you don't know Giffords story,  she was the U.S. Congresswomen shot in the head point blank while greeting Tucson constituents around 7 years ago.)

The worst part about this is I believe that even with fact checking, people will still call her a "fake doctor" .

So if you are able, please sent some light and love over here and to all candidates who are light workers  across the  US and across the globe.  May people open their eyes and fill their hearts with love.

Lovendures,  I am sending positive light your way, from my deepest heart.  I will also send my positive thoughts to Dr. Tiperneni.

I totally understand your frustration and fear.   The same thing is happening here in my district, the 50th District in California.  Our current congressman is Duncan Hunter, who, along with his wife, has been indicted by a Grand Jury for illegally using his campaign donations for personal purposes.  He is running against Ammar Campa-Najjar, a fine young man who I have met several times.  Hunter has been running ads saying that Campa-Najjar is an islamic extremist out to "infiltrate" the government.   Although his father was from Palestine, Campa-Najjar is a lifelong Christian, raised by his Christian Latina mom, and there is absolutely no truth to this smear campaign.

It is discouraging to see such blatantly racist and unethical tactics, especially as in our district there are plenty of die-hard Trumpers who are just eating it up.

On the other hand, many here (including myself and my daughter and her husband) have been motivated by Hunter's attacks to donate to and volunteer for Camap-Najjar's campaign, so not everyone is being sucked up into the darkness.    Although I think it is likely that Hunter will be re-elected, I take some comfort in having talked to many who see through Hunter's darkness.   (Well, that and the fact that if he is re-elected, he will be booted out when he is convicted!)

Remember:  as frustrated as we feel by all of this craziness, we do not have to surrender to it.   Sending light and love your way, and right after I finish this, I will also send a donation to Dr. Tiperneni too.

A beautiful and positive response!

When our heart hurts so deeply by the actions of others that seem unfair, dishonest, and causing pain for others, the best thing we can do is to fill our own hearts with love and using the power of our caring compassion actively do something positive.

This can include positive actions such as sending good thoughts, love, and light to all involved (spiritual/internally) and just do something (physically/externally) such as Rosieheart sending a donation that counteracts the mean spiritredness.

When we stand in awareness of our truth and do good...volunteer for causes, donate money to that cause, write a letter of support etc. we help mitigate the hatred (which is ultimately fear based) of others against others, with our own love and support. And the more people that join in and do this as well can create a shift in either private or public awareness.

Write letters of support, private to the individual, or public as in a letter to the editor in local newspaper, csn also create a counter balance.

There are many other ways of course, all of the protest ways,  all of the banners and sign ways. As long as they are done in positive caring ways not countering with mean ways back where our energy can rise with light not sink to the level of the darkness it makes a difference in the overall field of awareness and energy.

Rosieheart, what beautiful words you have written, I am uplifted by them.  I have heard of some of the trouble your district is facing with your leading candidate and will also send light and love your way.

Michele B, thank you for your wise thoughts.  I will keep them in mind as I figure out what my path with be over the next month until Election Day.

Thank you both.

Thank you Rosieheart and Michele.  I am so inspired by your posts.

Lovendures, When I read the accusations of the doctor's opponent I felt that the people who want to believe those accusations could not be helped at this time.  They choose to go towards the dark, for now anyway. That's why I don't try to convince my GOP friends and acquaintances of the darkness in their party. There is something in their hearts that wants to follow that darkness and unless they reach out to me, I do not engage in it.

However then there are people will react as you have,  repulsed and appalled by the accuser.  Eventually the ugliness of the GOP venom catches up to it, just as Hitler's screaming voice of death seared into people's hearts that they were hearing pure evil.

We need to continue seeing truth when there is truth, recognizing light when there is light and trusting that darkness will reveal itself for what it is to those who are ready to see truth over darkness.

We rise above the darkness with our hearts.

I'm not saying we have to send love to the perpetrators of lies.  But we can pause, take a breath,  and send love and light with all our being to those who speak truth and light.  I breathe in light from the heavens and send it to Dr. Hiral Tiperneni that he will be raised up as a purveyor of truth and light.

We can also send donations!  I'm going to send as much as I can this time.  Apparently there is a surge in grassroots donations to democrat candidates. It is quote possible that the grassroots can out donate the wealthy GOP  donors.

[The democratic senator from North Dakota Heidi Heitkamp also needs donations. She's behind in the polls.]

Rosieheart - thanks for your words of encouragement!

I'm exhausted but wanted you to know that I am pushing through it to Election Day, and will be canvassing for Campa-Najjar in El Cajon next week!

For anyone doing this work, I've learned an important technique when you come up against opposition. Stop stating and start asking questions.

Rather than stick to the talking points of your candidate, ask the canvassee, "Do you have anyone close to you with chronic or severe illness of any kind?" When they say "Yes," say "I understand, I do too, and I'm concerned about how [Candidate X/Duncan Hunter] views healthcare in our country, I worry he may work to overturn protections for pre-existing conditions." If they haven't slammed the door in your face by now, you might ask them to reflect on that.

Try to steer towards the issues and away from the men, if that makes sense. Don't bother with facts, just put out questions that may lead them to reflect on their choices.

I know my advice here is more concrete than this topic usually calls for, but sometimes "go back to basics" is a way to fight the darkness.

Laura,

Brilliant idea. I come from a strong sales background and the most surefire way to open or change someone's mind isnt to tell them something, but rather ask them something. You can never change anyone's thinking by telling them anything. You can, however, ask them things that will steer their thoughts towards a different perspective. Doing this bypasses all the safeguards and walls built up in their psyche and is quite effective. There was a line I always used with students in the salesforce......"Never convince anyone of a great idea. Always lead them to their own great ideas." People believe themselves and any conclusions they come to on their own are always the "right" ones.

Laura, I need advice like you just gave.  If you any other ideas, please do share.  I don't like canvassing but I know it is the single most effective way to get votes.

After the exhausting news this past week, and the terrible news that someone LoveEndures loves was personally affected, I found some small comfort in this news article tonight:

'Respond to Hate with Love': Muslim Organizations Raise Thousands to Benefit Pittsburgh Synagogue Shooting Victims

That's so wonderful, Rosie heart. There is always good that can follow after the saddest and most tragic events.

And the loving kindness of humanity after the senseless evil of inhumanity is such a reminder.

And while my heart still aches with the sorrow of so many hurting people tonight, it was a great blessing to read Lovendures last post and learn that the missing cousin of her family friend  who was presumed dead was recently found and alive.

But we can't help but be relieved and happy for the family friend's relief and joy now.

Even indirect evidence of a miracle in the midst of darkness lights up our world in gratitude.

And it truly does feel in its own way like many prayers were heard and many more will be in the days ahead as love and deep faith will be such a source of grounding for many members of the temple.

May they all know and feel all the compassion, love and caring and may we all see through eyes of light as we pierce through the darkness and sorrow in all our lives into a place of comfort and peace.

Keep sending them your own love and compassion as I and so many here will. It will help. ?
