The 2019 Hurricane season is getting off to an early start.  A month early actually.  A tropical disturbance is in the Bahamas right now, on it's way to Florida with heavy rain.

I thought we could take a look at the Atlantic Hurricane season names now, before the season really gets going, to see which storms we predict might become serious  storms.  ( I hope this is ok with you Jeanne).

Why?

1.  To practice some intuitive skills.  2.  To get a feeling of when the storms might hit (earlier alphabet names will be earlier in the season storms).  3. It will be interesting to see if we will be getting similar names.  4.  It isn't about politics, which is nice for a change of pace.

Thoughts. Notice any  numbers which might suggest a category .  Perhaps you will see a path or where landfill will be made. Look for other clues.

Below is a list of the 2019 names.  Put your predictions and thoughts in the comments for this thread.  Try not to look at a prediction made by someone else before you attempt the prediction yourself.

Thanks for participating.

When I first looked at the list of names, Nestor, Olga and Pablo stood out to me. Like a trio, back to back to back storms close together or perhaps on the radar at the same time.  I don't know how big or if they make landfall, but I felt they would be associated together. Humberto kinda stands out as a name, but I am not sure if I just like saying it or it will be a remembered storm.

The Hurricane names that stood out for me are:   Humberto, Imelda, Jerry and Karen.  I didn't get a good or bad feeling one way or another but those names stood out to me.

Hurricane season is up and running. Earlier this week a tropical depression near Bermuda was named Subtropical Storm Andrea. Andrea petered out after 24 hours, but this is the fifth year in a row in which a storm was named before the Atlantic hurricane season's official June 1st start date.

Humberto also stood out to me. But as with Lovendures, that could just be because I like saying the name.

Well, Barry sounds like it is going to be a big water event for Louisiana in particular.
