Pardon my poor camera skills but can anyone explain what I just saw? Taking Rocky out in the backyard, I look up and there are like 6-7 white lights aligned and one near the bottom is blinking. This configuration is not moving. I stare at it for like 15-20 seconds then I decide to get my cam. After I bring Rocky back in and look again, it is gone.  What did I see this morning?

I believe that is the beginning of Elon Musk's new world-wide satellite system for Internet accesing capabilities.

It has been reported that it is way brighter in the might sky than he ever understood it would be and unfortunately it is performing at a weaker strength than he envisioned.

But the hope was that if other systems were not consistently available or not at an affordable price, then this would create a viable solution.

Case in point, just leaving this site to find a link for back-up, i was booted out of this site and had to sign back in and lost my edit window as a result.

We gave up up our very limited and very small data allowance internet satellite 3 years ago and i completely use a cell phone for blogging, posting on forums and accessing any social media i still use.

I was hopeful Elon Musk's new system would be my future answer instead our love of star gazing is already altered.

While "only" 600 satellites are up now but the plan is for multiple thousands more to come.

???‍♀️?

Link:

"Lights in the sky from Elon Musk's new satellite network have stargazers worried

The launch of 60 Starlink satellites by Elon Musk's SpaceX has grabbed the attention of people around the globe. The satellites are part of a fleet that is intended to provide fast internet across the world.

Improved internet services sound great, and Musk is reported to be planning for up to 12,000 satellites in low Earth orbit. But this fleet of satellites could forever change our view of the heavens."

Starlink's ambitious mission

Starlink is an ambitious plan to use satellites in low Earth orbit (about 500km up) to provide global internet services.

@michele-b  Quite possible but why did it just disappear?  Do they move quickly to another locale?

I really believe anything is possible.

Look at our upside down inside out topsy turvy world now!

So on the side of science, perhaps changing atmospheric conditions or something we can't see because its naturally dark not unnaturally lit up passed in front of it (space debris whstever) or on the side of UFOs and Alien sightings, there's always that.

We have too much going on now in our lives and world to even think of that right now but if they're here maybe they turned their lights to dark mode. I'm open minded and open to others thoughts.

I'm thinking science but since the site booted me out of my log in twice already I'm really rooting for peaceful aliens who are striving to help us.

Goodness know we need it!

Ah yes, Elon Musk screwing things up for everyone else. Just thought I'd chime in and say Musk is a narcissistic asshole. The last thing we need is one more deluded billionaire who thinks his phallic vanity project will "save humanity."  Excuse the anal tone, but I'm just so fed up with self-appointed savior figures. The pothead CEO of Tesla especially sticks in my craw because he embodies little boy techno-myopia. He's not a genius. He's a little kid who never outgrew a juvenile craving for attention.

Elon, you can sink your billions into whatever idiotic project you want. Humanity doesn't need a savior; we possess emergent, collective genius that's just waiting to be activated. In the meantime, don't go doodling on the night sky. We have to clean up your mess when you're gone.

There. It's out of my system ? .

Happy to help. Hope you feel better. This of all times with so many big babies and little boys having money and power I'm still riding high with the Divine Feminine and Girl Power.

It's just that if we're going to save the world we've got an awful lot to do on our matriarchal plate.

I guess it's a very good thing we have some good guys like you preparing in the wings since...at least so far..no aliens have beamed down today to assist or beamed you or I up. ?
