Years back I saw that progressives would take  climate change into their own hands because the executive branch of the federal government had failed. I saw that local and regional efforts would take over.

Today I read that Pelosi is taking a delegation to Spain to attend an international climate conference, even though the person who occupies the White House has withdrawn from the Paris climate agreement.   It shows how things can change if we can just get a blue wave in Congress.

While it boggles the mind that anyone with power in this country would ignore the catastrophe that looms over us, I am heartened to see the Speaker of the House proceeding.

Here's WAPO's weekly energy story on the issue, including the significance of Pelosi leaving the impeachment hearings to attend this conference.  It seems from her actions that she feels that impeachment is looming and she's already moving forward in national leadership.    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/powerpost/paloma/the-energy-202/2019/12/02/the-energy-202-here-s-why-pelosi-is-going-to-madrid-for-a-climate-conference/5de3ff6188e0fa652bbbdafb/
